Ralph was born in Washington, Missouri and raised in the Warren County community. He graduated from St. Francis Borgia High School in 1971. He joined the Missouri Army National Guard in 1971 and retired from the military after serving in Desert Storm in 1991. Following his initial military training, He enrolled in the Allied Health classes at East Central College. He obtained his EMT license in 1972 and worked as a volunteer EMT for the Marthasville Community Ambulance District until 1982 when he moved to Warrenton. In 1988, he obtained his paramedic license working for the Warren County Ambulance District from 1982 to present. In July of 1982 – July of 1985, he accepted the part time position as the Administrator. In 1985, he accepted the position full time.
The Warren County Ambulance District currently has three facilities in Warren County and a staff of 30 full time and 17 part time employees.
Ralph enjoys spending time with his wife, Tina, three grandsons, Austin, Logan and Clayton, three granddaughters, Sage, Harper and Brooklyn, two step-daughters, Brenda and Stephanie and one son-in-law, Tim.
He is active in the following organizations: Missouri Ambulance Association (Secretary), Warrenton Villa Board (Chairman), St. Joseph Hospital West Advisory Board (Chairman), Warren County Joint Communications – 911, (Treasurer), VFW (Member), Knights of Columbus (Member), Medical Reserve Corps, Warren County LEPC Secretary, Boy Scout Merit Badge Counselor and Missouri EMS Funeral Response Team (Board Member) and a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
