The following is a cut-and-paste e-mail from Dr. Jermyn:
December 20, 2007
Dear Task Force Member,
As you know, we had to cancel the 11 December initial meeting of the Time Critical Diagnosis Task Force due the ice storm and widespread power outages. Please recall that this Task Force is to make formal recommendations for the design of a Time Critical Diagnosis System for Missouri that will address both ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) and Acute Ischemic Stroke (AIS).
The initial meeting has been rescheduled to our 15 January 2008 date. Note that we are scheduled in the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison St, Jefferson City, MO 65102, Room 450. Parking is across the street in a commercial garage.
Please add a make-up date to your calendar for 31 January 2008. The meeting location is tentatively scheduled for the State Public Health Laboratory at 101 Chestnut, Jefferson City, MO 65102. Parking is within the walls of the old state prison, across the street.
Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Director Jane Drummond has invited your participation and stated, “This task force has the potential to make a difference in the lives of those who suffer a stroke or STEMI in this State. Your involvement in the task force adds value to the process and will assure that we have critical input for the planning efforts.”
Enclosed are copies of the documents sent to you with updates as necessitated by the weather. Again, we will need you to RSVP so we can provide a lunch for you or for any guests. There is one new document. After some discussion, we request that participants complete a disclosure form to make this process as transparent as possible. If you would fill this form out and return to Beverly Smith at Beverly.Smith@dhss.mo.gov or fax to 573-751-6041 it will save some time and effort during the meeting.
I want to emphasize that this meeting is open to anyone interested in system development. The goal is to make this as open a process as possible and we simply need an RSVP to include someone. Contact me if there are any questions at 573-526-0723, and I hope to see you on 15 January. I appreciate your continued participation in this worthy endeavor.
Sincerely,
Bill Jermyn, DO, FACEP
EMS Medical Director
