Sprinter vs E350 van for transfers
QuoteReply

I'm considering replacing our two E350 econoline's, as they have the undependable and breakdown prone 6.0 liter, with a 140" wheelbase type III Sprinter 3500c chassis.  The chasis will be mounted with a 142"longx86"widex68"high box. In our response model the Econolines are our non-emergent LDT (Long Distance Transfer.  In 2006 we performed over 800 LDT's) ambulances.    Two services I've contacted have been in New Jersey, 15 Sprinters, and in Pennyslvania, 5 sprinters with two more on order.  Both of the managers and fleet maintenance guys speak highly of the Sprinters for the expectations that I've set for them. By my numbers I'll save over $4,500.00 per truck per year in operational costs over the Econolines.

The vendor I'm looking at is Medix out of Elkhart, Indiana.  Does anyone have further information on the Sprinters and/or the vendor.  Please give me specific positive or negatives; not generalities.

Later,

jim
